Sing me a song of solitude,
write lullaby lyrics with soft
serenades to soothe me to
sleeping serenity, engulf
me in white down blankets
and let me float through
waves of indifferent indulgences
identified through daydreams;
perfectly poised, like mummies,
to wrap myself tightly in
sarcophagus lucidity, flowing
freely between sing-song
epiphanies and washing
ashore among realizations
sung in sweeter tones;
your voice to guide me home.
Jeff Buckley, Hallelujah
My god.
A shivering leaf
whispers shyly
on its branch
It feels so lonely.
A humdrum town
with a grey tinge
and its rainy frown
makes you down.
Flutter far away
to a sunny state
lay upon sand
until it gets late.
A humdrum town
with a grey tinge
and its rainy frown
makes you down.
So as the masses
are encased indoors
it only looks like
getting worse for sure.
